"'Romeo is banished'--to speak that word is father, mother, Tybalt, Romeo, Juliet, all slain, all dead." (III; ii 122-4)Juliet reacts to the horrible news that has rocked her world. So much has happened in Act III, it is important to stay on top of things: Mercutio murdered by Tybalt; Tybalt struck down by Romeo; the prince has exiled Romeo to Mantua. The city of Verona is in a state of calamity and it isn't looking good for our young star-crossed lovers who have just wed only a few hours earlier. Their secret love is still hidden away. Could their marriage bring the feuding families together in harmony? Let's consider this as we read on.
For Wednesday responded to a journal question (called Everything in Moderation) and started looking more closely at one character from the play using the character analysis worksheet to guide us.
